A new International Kino Kabaret Project : Kino 111
111 participants
3 sessions
3 neighboring countries : France, Germany, and Luxembourg
Because one country is not enough ;)

What is a Kino ?
Created in Montreal in 1999 by Quebec independent filmmakers, the Kino movement has grown into an international network.
It is a film co-creation event where anyone, without registering in advance as part of a team, can make or take part in making short films.
Registered participants can join several shoots depending on the number of sessions. Each session ends with a public screening.
It is a collective creation lab open to everyone, based on mutual support and sharing, with no form of competition.
Do well with nothing, do better with little, and do it right now!
The official Kino movement credo
How it goes ?

1. Production meeting
At the first session, all participants introduce themselves one by one.
Then, and also for the next two sessions, project leads present their idea or script.

Team formation
The participants gather over drinks to talk, get to know each other, and form the teams for the upcoming shoots.
2. Filming Begins!
In the limited time of the session, participants write, shoot, and edit their film together as a team.
They are fully autonomous and have access to a hosted venue to work and eat during the hours defined beforehand.

3. Screening
The films will be shown during a public screening open to everyone.
Just after, it will be time to celebrate with a concert, barbecue, and fresh beer! (the most important part if you may).
The next day, participants move on to the next country for the next session!
Main areas of focus
Cross-border
To foster genuine dialogue between three neighboring countries, within the same territory.
Youth
To offer young people a concrete framework for meeting, experimenting, and opening up to the international stage.
Cultural
To create and distribute short films that showcase the territory.
Bringing people together
To bring together participants from different backgrounds, experiences, and countries around a collective creation open to everyone.[qc +1]
Our values

Social cohesion
Respect is not optional. We are committed to creating a space free from racism, discrimination, sexist behavior, and every type of violence, where everyone can feel safe, welcomed, and heard, includes people with disabilities.
Collective spirit
Kino is a collective adventure: we come together to help one another, share ideas and skills, and build strong films and beautiful screenings for our public.
Respecting cultures
Each country has its own laws, customs, and cultural codes, and we ask everyone to respect them. You are, of course, free to question, critique, or parody them through your creations.

Why 111 ?
"Could it be that 1+1=11? And that’s beautiful.”
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Alone, building connections is hard. But once you have your +1, everything becomes simpler. Now imagine you are 3: everything becomes possible.
“If 1+1=11, then 1+1+1=111. And that’s incredible.”

Partnership opportunities
Venues for film teams
We are looking for venues in Luxembourg and Germany to host film teams during the Kabaret, including spaces for production meetings, writing sessions, editing, and post-production work.
Screening space
We are seeking a screening venue with a capacity of at least 150 seats. Ideally, the same venue could host both the teams’ daily work and the public screenings.
Communication support
We are looking for partners who can help spread the word about Kino 111 through their networks, platforms, and communities.
Financial support
We are seeking financial partners who would like to support an international creative event dedicated to collaboration, filmmaking, and cultural exchange.

The project initiator
Charlie Raud, a filmmaker and still photographer. He co-created the “Festival du Film Universitaire du Grand Est” (aka “Le FUDGE”) and a Kino Kabaret in Metz: “Kino Mirabilis”.
